About the festival
Sustain Film Festival is a creative festival based in Guildford, celebrating film, animation, performing arts, and interactive media. While our theme touches on the environment, we welcome all kinds of stories and ideas. Artists, makers, and creatives from all backgrounds are invited to share their work and interpret the theme in their own way.
We aim to bring people together – locally and globally – to celebrate creativity and spark important conversations about our future. Sustain is about more than the planet’s wellbeing—it’s about people, culture, and the power of storytelling to inspire change.
By supporting Sustain, you are helping to create a space for imagination, connection, and hope for what lies ahead.
We believe in the power of storytelling — to connect us, to share ideas, and to help shape a better future.
Sustain is proudly supported and co-produced by the Institute for Sustainability at the University of Surrey. The festival is a key part of the Institute’s mission to help build a more sustainable future — one that supports long-term wellbeing for people and the planet.
Through this partnership, we highlight the vital role that arts and culture play in inspiring change, engaging communities, and shaping a better world. Together, we’re using creativity to connect with hearts and minds, and to spark action toward a more sustainable tomorrow.
