This stream is focused on the potentials and constraints of the arts and creative practices in the communication, representation, imagination, sensing, and experience of more sustainable ways of living, as well as the defamiliarisation of existing ones.
The role of the arts in communication and representation is well established, but they are often assumed to be a neutral vehicle for messages in this context.
Additionally, the imaginative, sensory, and experiential potentials of the arts are under-researched.
