Purpose and Role of the Advisory Board
The Advisory Board’s foundational role is to act as a panel of objective and independent individuals who advise, advocate for and help advance the goal of the Institute.
The Advisory Board will support the Institute in delivering its strategy by:
Offering advice, guidance, challenge and ideas.
Acting as an influential advocate for the Institute, inside and outside the University.
Promoting the Institute within their own networks.
Helping develop key relationships to secure essential sponsorship and investment.
Specifically, the Advisory Board’s terms of reference will be to act as a panel of objective and independent advisors who:
1. Advise
Advise and influence the development and implementation of strategy in the Institute and act as a critical friend.
2. Advocate
Support the building of the Institute’s brand locally, nationally and internationally.
Act as ambassadors on behalf of the Institute and, where possible, network with key players and audiences on its behalf.
Facilitate and contribute to discussions and influence decision making around the future trends and needs that the Institute should address.
Help establish and develop the Institute’s position within relevant areas of professional practice, based on experience.
Support the dissemination of the Institute’s research outputs to key audiences and potential users.

Sustainability Education
